Ciao from Sonia and Sean, husband and wife owners of Ciao Restaurant and Bar!

 

Sonia has always had a passion for cooking (one of the many reasons why Sean loves her so much). She truly finds joy in preparing quality meals for others as she believes that the joy it brings makes all of the hard work worthwhile.

Sonia began her journey in the service industry working alongside her parents Joe and Sarah at their family-owned and operated bakery, D'Amici's. Under the tutelage of her parents, Sonia learned the ways of the business and eventually ran her own D'Amici's location in Reading.

​

Eager to return to her passion, Sonia once again teamed up with her family to start her next chapter in the restaurant industry. With a vision of serving the authentic Italian cuisine her family enjoyed growing up in a casual and welcoming atmosphere, the idea for Ciao was born. 

​

In need of a bartender, the Torettas naturally turned to the only Irishman in the family- Sonia's (then) fiancé Sean. With Sonia cheffing up delicious dishes in the kitchen and Sean serving knock-out cocktails behind the bar, Ciao has gained local notoriety as a friendly, welcoming establishment that is committed to ensuring each one of our guests is treated like family.
